Ingredients
-
200g Wickedly Welsh Chocolate (milk or dark, depending on your preference)
-
750ml whole milk
-
250ml double cream
-
2 tbsp caster sugar (optional, depending on the sweetness of your chocolate)
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
-
Pinch of sea salt
Optional Toppings
-
Whipped cream
-
Mini marshmallows
-
Chocolate shavings
-
Grated nutmeg or cinnamon
Method
-
Prepare the chocolate: roughly chop the your choice of Wickedly Welsh Chocolate into small pieces. This will help it to melt evenly.
-
Combine the ingredients: add your milk, double cream, caster sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt to your slow cooker and gently stir gently to combine.
-
Add the chocolate: stir in the chopped chocolate, ensuring it’s evenly distributed in the liquid.
-
Cook slowly: set your slow cooker to low and cook for 2 hours. Stir the mixture every 30 minutes or so, to ensure the chocolate melts evenly and doesn’t stick to the sides.
-
Check and serve: after 2 hours, check the consistency and sweetness of the hot chocolate. If it’s too thick, stir in a splash of milk and adjust sweetness if needed. Ladle the hot chocolate into mugs and add your favourite toppings.
Top Tip: you can keep your slow cooker on low throughout the day to keep your unlimited hot chocolate going for that little bit longer. Just give it a stir before servng!
