Eton Mess Bar

Let’s talk about all things Eton Mess. Nothing screams summertime bliss more than this fruity delight. Now we know what you are thinking, this is a national favourite of our lovely English neighbours, so what are us Welsh folk doing talking about this? Well, here at Wickedly Welsh we thought we'd put our own spin on this traditional English classic!

Tasking our master chocolatiers with the challenge of turning something more English than tea and tiffin, into something more Welsh than Nessa, the Eaton Mess war was underway! After months of toing and froing with different flavour combinations and endless taste tests (maybe a few more than was necessary, it just tasted so good) we are finally ready to unveil our own take on the classic Eton Mess, the Wickedly Welsh Eton Mess White Chocolate Bar! Dare we say it, this Eton Mess chocolate bar may even be comparable in beauty to the flag of our great Welsh nation …. Nah, kidding! it’s good, but not THAT good :)

The iconic trio of strawberries, cream and meringue coupled with our moreish white chocolate, is a flavour sensation too good to not indulge in. The delicious dessert we’ve based this new recipe on dates back to the 19th Century and is thought to have originated from Eton College. Legend has it that this firm English favourite was created when an overexcited dog knocked over a meringue dessert at a picnic, and so the Eton Mess was born, becoming a classic go-to dessert for Brits ever since.

Wanting to go one better than our English chocolatier rivals, we’ve incorporated these delightful flavours into our finest creamy white chocolate. Starting with the strawberries, we lovingly stirred them into our famous white chocolate, using just a hint of vanilla and cream to bring out their fresh, juicy flavour. Next, we scattered sweet crunchy meringue with freeze dried strawberries on top of the milk chocolate bar. The tangy strawberries and moreish meringue go perfectly with the silky smooth milk chocolate - the perfect after dinner treat. Of course we continue to be proud to say we use only the finest ingredients available, which is why our award-winning chocolate bars always taste so good.
